Duncombe Street crossing-a must!

Duncombe Street in the heart of Central Bletchley is a fast road with lots of lorries also using it.

The road has a mosque and a much used community house. Both are used by large numbers of children as well as by many older residents who live in the surrounding streets.

Long standing community activist and Labour spokesperson for Central Bletchley Mohammed Khan has been talking to residents including those using the Mosque and the community house. All believe that a road crossing is needed.

Mohammed Khan said, “I remember, as a child this was a dangerous road and I believe, if anything, it is faster, more congested and dangerous now.”

Mohammed Khan believes that Milton Keynes Council needs to look at  the need for traffic calming, speed restrictions and parking needs in the surrounding roads.

Mohammed Khan concluded, “We need a review of the Duncombe Street area over the next two years, but we need a crossing now.”
