Andrew welcomes extra hospital funding

Milton Keynes Hospital has been awarded an extra £2.7 million for A&E services as the government is forced to act to avert another Winter NHS crisis.

Responding to the announcement, Andrew Pakes, Labour & Co-operative Parliamentary Candidate for Milton Keynes South, commented:

“This will be welcome extra funds for A&E services in Milton Keynes this winter. The NHS is under increasing pressure from the Government’s hasty top-down reforms and funding restraints. The team at Milton Keynes Hospital have already made great improvements in A&E provision with a limited budget.  This money will help but instead of a one-off hit we need a long-term focus on the resources we need as a growing city.”
