Andrew is the Labour & Co-operative Parliamentary spokesperson for Milton Keynes South.

Andrew was born in Newport Pagnell and grew up in Milton Keynes. After attending local schools, Portfields and Ousedale, he won a place at the University of Hull - the first of his family to go on to higher education.

Following college, Andrew was twice elected as President of the National Union of Students (NUS) - the first student from Milton Keynes to hold the position - where he represented 4 million students in further and higher education. He also worked for the Association of University Teachers (now part of the University and College Union) which represents staff at the Open University.

Andrew studied environmental management at university and remains passionate about environmental issues. For four years, he chaired SERA - the Labour green group - working with councillors, MPs, businesses and community organisations to promote environmental progress and social justice.

Andrew is an active member of the co-operative movement, as was the Labour & Co-operative Parliamentary Candidate in MIlton Keynes North during the 2010 election. Andrew is delighted to again be supported by the Co-operative Party.
