D Day for White Hart Planning Application.

This Thursday 16 February sees controversial plans to  demolish the derelict White Hart pub and build a 32 bed mental health centre being considered by Milton Keynes Council Planning Committee.

West Bletchley Parish Council vice- Chair Elaine Wales is calling for residents to turn up to the planning committee at Milton Keynes Council in big numbers.

Cllr Elaine Wales, Vice- Chair of the Parish Council said, “Thursday is D Day for the planning application. This meeting provides another really important step in the campaign to defeat this bad planning application. It is an inappropriate application. It is on the wrong site and it has caused widespread alarm in our community.”

Cllr Elaine Wales, who is part of the joint resident and councillor action group fighting the proposals, believes that Thursday’s meeting is vital. We want the planning committee councillors to reject the application. Cllr Wales believes the application should be rejected because of:

  • The parking and traffic impact
  • Impact of design on locality
  • Weak on section 106 arrangements.

Cllr Elaine Wales concluded, “I will be there on Thursday evening pushing for the Council to oppose the application. This means challenging the recommendation from Council officers. They have, in our view, got it wrong. I think they believe that any defeat for the application will be over-turned by the Government inspector on appeal. We must make the case and show that they are wrong.”
