Ensuring that regeneration benefits our community
I’m your Labour councillor for Woughton and Fishermead, which includes the areas of Fishermead, Peartree Bridge, Eaglestone, Netherfield, Tinkers Bridge, Coffee Hall and Beanhill. This is a fantastic ward to represent, with a real community ‘can do’ spirit. I want to be able to work with you to make it an even better place than it already is.
I grew up in the Woughton area, and have lived here nearly all my life. I am passionate about equality, and have a long record of working for a local charity in this field.
I got involved in local politics because I care about the area I live in. Since being elected in 2008, I have worked hard to represent the ward, and taken every opportunity to make a difference. I have been Deputy Leader of the Council for the last two years, and a Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration.
As a councillor, my greatest success has been leading a project to start the largest council house building programme outside of London. This will see a commitment by Milton Keynes Council to build 200 homes over the next few years.
The Labour Party has made a commitment to investing in every area of Milton Keynes through a programme of regeneration. This is one of the more important issues facing this ward. I am certain that the only positive way to address this is to work together as a community. I will continue to work with you to move this forward.
Woughton and Fishermead is my home, and I strongly believe that we can work together to make regeneration work in a positive and beneficial way.
