Action needed to tackle Inconsiderate car parkers turning Bradwell Common into giant commuter car park.
Residents of Bradwell Common are fed up with the inconsiderate parking of cars all over the estate, by commuters who go off to London every morning leaving residents with a headache!
Bradwell Common is a short 10 minute walk from Central Milton Keynes Railway station and it is being used by literally dozens of commuters, who literally park up and walk to the station.
Local councillor Pauline Wallis, who lives on the neighbouring estate of Conniburrow, has been working with local residents who have complained to her about the parking by commuters. said, "I have watched this problem getting worse and worse over the last 20 years. Residents understand that commuting to London is expensive and parking costly, but that does not give anyone the right to park up all day, week in, week out on Bradwell Common."
Pauline Wallis added, "It isn’t just that they park on the estate. It's that they park badly, often making it difficult for residents to get off their drives of travel easily up some of the narrow roads."
Cllr Pauline Wallis has sent out a survey to all residents and is seeking views on the best way to tackle this problem.
Cllr Wallis concluded, "I want to hear residents views on the best way to tackle this poor parking. I think a residents permit scheme may have to be introduced linked to towing away of cars without permits. But lets see what the residents say."
