Council flats in the Paddock Way area of Fenny Stratford need better care. Cleaning and grounds maintenance needs to be improved according to local councillor Mohammed Khan who responded to resident concerns.

The flats are nice places to live, but Cllr Khan believes the standards of care, in terms of cleaning, grass cuttingĀ  and grounds maintenance, such as in the rear areas of the blocks need improvement.

Cllr Khan said, “There is a need for a bit more Tender Loving Care from the Council. It is not rocket science. I think that the Council need to visit more often. The problems would be clear if staff visited such blocks of flats.”

Cllr Khan also visited the flats with MKC Cabinet Housing chief Cllr Nigel Long last Friday (23.06.17) and showed him the rear of the properties.

Cllr Long added, “I share Cllr Khans concerns. The housing service needs to discover its caring side. There are hundreds of flats across Bletchley. We need to ensure they are all cleaned to a high standard all year round. “

Cllr Khan concluded, “I am concerned at the standards of cleaning and maintenance of the open spaces around blocks of flats. I think there needs to be a resident led review of these services. This is not about money. It is about doing the basics well and showing a bit of TLC.”
