Residents of Eaton Avenue, Central Bletchley have collected 121 signatures about cars exceeding the speed limit in the road.  Local councillor Mohammed Khan is supporting the residents call for action.

A survey carried out by the Town Council showed that over a week in February 2018; of the 3,931 cars counted 812 or 21% exceeded the 30 mph limit. The breakdown was:

  • 770 over 40 mph
  • 38 over 50 mph
  • 4 over 60 mph.

Total 812 out of 3,921 counted by the SID (Speed Indicator Device)

Cllr Khan said, “Eaton Avenue in Central Bletchley has a problem of speeding cars. It is a residential road. I am supporting the residents to get some action to address this problem. The recent speed count showed over 800 cars exceeding the speed limit. “

Cllr Khan concluded, “I want to see action from Milton Keynes Council to make the road safer. I think we need improved signage, including the flashing speed sign or if that does not work we may need to look at going for a 20mph limit or traffic calming measures. “
