The overall turnout in the election was 33.06% and the party received 24,625 votes, winning the seats in 8 of the 19 wards which make up the Milton Keynes Council area.

Chair of Milton Keynes Labour Party, Paul Day said: “We are grateful for every vote and every act of support we receive from residents across the borough.  Our Councillors will now put in every effort to deliver our manifesto and to work hard for all of the the local community in the wards which they now represent and for Milton Keynes as a whole.”

Mr Day continued: “During the election we saw our posters in windows across Milton Keynes and a huge number of expressions of support online. It’s a great motivation to our team to see the level of support we have.  We want to thank every voter who has put their faith is us and voted for their local Labour candidate.

I also want to thank our volunteers who work so hard year round talking to members of the public at their doors, at street stalls and community events, delivering leaflets, running our social media and helping our party to make a positive difference to Milton Keynes”
