2017 marks the Milton Keynes Labour Party’s 100th Birthday, and we are celebrating with a Centenary Birthday Party.
On Saturday 5th May 1917 a Labour Conference was held at the Wolverton Science and Arts Institute (now the Wolverton Agora Car Park), forming the North Bucks Labour Party. 100 years on, we have grown to over 1800 members and been able to make a positive difference to the people, environment, economy and culture of North Buckinghamshire, now Milton Keynes.
That is why we are inviting our members to help us celebrate - come and join your fellow comrades for an informal night of drinks and dancing.
It is a historic year and not an evening to miss.
We are delighted to announce that Shadow Education Secretary, Angela Raynor, has been confirmed as our guest speaker. Given the forthcoming General Election, this now becomes an even more important fundraiser. After careful consideration, we have decided to make it a free event at which everyone will be invited to donate to election funding.
We need to ensure we fill the venue to it’s 400 capacity, and so you still need to reserve your tickets here to gain access.
Please note that we can’t go over the safety capacity set for the venue. When Jeremy Corbyn spoke at the March 2016 event, some people couldn’t get tickets because others had reserved free tickets then didn’t use them. Please only reserve the number of tickets you’ll actually use.
Date: Saturday 6th May 2017
Time: 7pm until late
Location: Cornerstone Church, Central Milton Keynes
Ticket price: Free
Please note that this is one of a number of celebrations throughout the year, you can also help mark the occasion by purchasing our anniversary mug for just £5. If you would like to do this, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call him on 01908 314974.
