Mohammed Khan brings all sides together to address School Parking.

On Thursday 9 February at the request of Community Campaigner Mohammed Khan representatives from Milton Keynes Council, bus operator Arriva, the school Oxley Park Academy, the police and the local parish council sat down at the Oxley Park community centre to sort out the horrendous parking problems outside the school and the adjacent local shops.

Central to sorting out the problem was agreement to re-route the bus service. This will now avoid the central shopping area, whilst still serving the whole estate.

Also agreed were new double yellow lines on the corners of Redgrave Drive and Hepburn Crescent. The silver bollards outside TESCOs will be re-painted to make them clearer and help make clear the parking areas.

Community Campaigner Mohammed Khan said, “I was pleased to help bring together a range of people to sort out the traffic problems at the Oxley Park centre. The police, school and councils are working really well together and I believe that will help us resolve this problem.”

The changes are due to come into effect in April.

Community Campaigner Mohammed Khan concluded, “I have been working with a range of local residents to address this problem. The proposed outcome points to what can be achieved when we all work together.”
