A Labour Councillor has been leading the way for a new play park in Oakhill, and a site has been found for children and families to enjoy.

Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Zoe Nolan has been working closely with Shenley Church End Parish Council on this project after residents got in touch about the possibility of getting a local play park.

Milton Keynes Council have now identified a site in Oakhill that will accommodate a new naturalistic play park with a range of equipment to promote physical play, and the Parish Council is consulting with residents on their design plans for the site.

Residents have been sent diagrams of the design and the consultation received a good response, with almost 90% of respondents in favour of the proposed site, design and equipment.

Councillor Zoe Nolan said: “MK Labour have pledged a ‘Summer of Play’ if we win the local elections in May, this and projects like the Oakhill play park are all part of our promise to families to support all of our children and young people to reach their potential”

Cllr Nolan continued: “Physical, outdoor activity is so important for children and young people’s health and mental health and I’m excited to see this project move forward to deliver a new play park for the Oakhill residents who have been pushing for one”
