Overgrown bushes a danger on estates

Overgrown bushes and concerns about hedges was one of the biggest concerns to emerge from a city-wide tenant event at the beginning of September.

Now city centre Labour Councillor Pauline Wallis has taken up the issue challenging Council Leader Peter Geary over his failure to maintain and cut back hundreds of hedges across the city's estates.

Cllr Pauline Wallis raised local concerns directly with Cllr Geary in the council chamber on Wednesday 11 September. Speaking after the event, Cllr Wallis comented:

"The problem we are facing is that MK Council is not cutting the hedges abd bushes back. This may seem a small issue but high hedges and overgrown bushes can cause problems. I have raised this matter with council leader Peter Geary but I think the just tried to fob me off. I am not prepared to keep quiet about this. Residents deserve better."
