Candidate for Broughton Ward
Six years ago I moved to Broughton and made our community my home. Over that time I have worked as a local driving instructor. This has given me the opportunity to get to know many fantastic people in our Ward and to feel part of our community. I believe our council should reflect the community it serves and that is why I want to represent you and your interests. I want to make a difference where we live and always do my best for residents.
Broughton has given me so much and I hope to have the opportunity to give back by serving you as your councillor. My priority is to make sure all residents in every part of our Ward have access to all the facilities and opportunities we need. We deserve to live in a place where we have the infrastructure and investment for our community to flourish. That means we need to properly fund our schools, our health centres and maintain excellent roads, landscaping and public spaces.
I am an active representative of many local charity organisations. In that role I have seen the devastation caused by Tory cuts. I have also seen our Labour Council standing strong. I am proud of our achievements as a Council, in hard times we have protected Milton Keynes from Conservative austerity and prioritised Children’s Services, adult social care and the resources to tackle the Tory homelessness crisis. Labour has also set out a serious plan for expansion. As our city grows, new facilities are needed to meet the standard of living we deserve. Labour knows we can’t just build houses, we need to build communities.
