From Germany to Greece to the USA, people who want a society free from racism are saying no more. Many Labour Party members were among those who recently attended a Stand up to Racism Milton Keynes public meeting to hear speakers, including MK council leader Pete Marland, call for unity.

Others to speak passionately included Boni Adeliyi and Lauren Townsend, TGI Friday workers who’ve been on strike to win fair pay, Kit Power from the OU University College Union executive, as well as Myriam Kane representing Stand up to Racism.

Supported by MK Momentum, MK Peace and Justice Network and Unite Community, the meeting called for people to take to London’s streets on Saturday 17 November for a national Unity TUC-backed march and rally, where, among many others, Diane Abbot, President of Stand up to Racism will speak. A coach co-funded by Unite Community and the OUUCU will leave from MK central station at 10.30am on Saturday 17th. Seats can be booked here or by email to standuptoracismmk@gmail.com.
