The residents and businesses of Serpentine Court have voted overwhelmingly for new homes and shops.

On a huge 85% turnout, 93% of residents and businesses voted for Option Three. This will see Serpentine Court demolished and replaced with new council houses and shops.

At 3.00pm on Saturday 17^th November Cllr Nigel Long announced the result of a ballot to residents who gathered to hear the result.

Cllr Long, Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration said, “There was enormous joy amongst the residents who had devoted 14 months of their lives to preparing the options that went to ballot.”

He added, “This is a great day for the diverse Serpentine Court community. Now the detailed work starts on turning the dream of new homes into reality.”

Council Leader Pete Marland said, “I would like to thank the residents, businesses, the Council staff and the tenant Participation Advisory Service for their hard work and the fantastic outcome. The Council will now move to support the residents as they work through the implementation of their decision.”  

Cllr Long concluded, “I worked at Serpentine Court, when I first came to Bletchley in 1983. I supported regeneration in the early 1990s but it did not happen. I am passionately committed to seeing the ballot decision turned into reality. Together, we will deliver the high quality homes that will improve lives and opportunities for the community.”
