Make a difference. Be a councillor.
Make a difference. Be a councillor.

Have you ever considered being a councillor? Ahead of the local elections in 2026, where every seat in the city will be contested, Milton Keynes Labour will be running a full training programme for those interested in standing.

We are hosting a number of online ‘Be a Councillor’ sessions in November and December. These will be an opportunity to hear from existing councillors about their roles and journeys, ask questions, and hear more about the training programme and how you can apply. We are particularly keen to support people from communities underrepresented in politics, and most of these sessions are aimed at specific underrepresented groups.

These sessions are open to all, not just Labour members, though please not that if you take part in the training programme there will be an expectation to join the Labour Party within 3 months of starting.
