The future of Hodge Lea Meeting Place remains uncertain, but it’s starting to look safer and cleaner.

Over recent months, Cllr Rob Middleton has been working hard to get the ownership of the meeting place transferred back into the hands of the Hodge Lea’ community. The meeting place is presently owned by the Crown Estate, who act for the Queen. It has recently come to the attention of Councillor Rob Middleton that a mystery helper has lent a hand to cleaning up Hodge Lea Meeting Place. The mystery helper has weeded and cleaned up the garden.

I want to say Thank You.

Cllr Middleton has appealed for the mystery helper to get in touch, as once the Meeting Place is back in the hands of the community, lots of help will be needed to help in its running.

On Thursday 26th September, Wolverton and Greenleys’ Town Council agreed at their Full Council to commission a feasibility study including architects drawings in connection with the meeting place.

Cllr Rob Middleton welcomes the Town Council’s help. Once the cost has been established, Cllr Middleton will start fundraising for the cost of the refurbishment. He concluded,

“I think the power of persuasion has won the day here. I am pleased I have kept pushing this matter. I look forward securing funding, so that the meeting place will come back into community use in the near future.”
