A hidden alleyway running from pensioner properties in Cleeve Crescent to Westminster Drive has been cleaned up following the action of local councillor Mick Legg.

The narrow alleyway had long been overlooked by Council contractors, yet it is a key route for pensioners going to their local shops at Melrose.

Local councillor Mick Legg said, “West Bletchley is criss crossed by dozens of alleyways. I think this alleyway had been overlooked because it is hidden away. Yet it is much used by pensioners who walk to the local shops.”

He added, “When I was contacted by residents, I got straight on to the challenge. I knew the hidden alleyway because I lived round the corner when growing up. Clearly local knowledge helps tackle problems.”

Cllr Legg concluded, “I think the clean up has made a big difference. I am asking other residents to let me know of any hidden alleys the Councils contractors keep missing.”
