Stantonbury has the fourth highest level of fly tipping in the City. There were 852 reports since 2016 (426 per year). Local Labour Councillor Hannah Minns is determined to clean up.

The garages area and the play area at the rear of Rowle Close, Stantonbury highlight the problem.

Cllr Hannah Minns said, “We face some long standing fly tipping and rubbish dumping problems in Statonbury. I am pleased that I was able to organise for the play area and the nearby garages area to be cleaned up. But we really need to demolish the old garages. But for historic reasons they are privately owned, often by people who have left the area. I would love to see new OAP bungalows built on the garages site.”
