Blackmoor Gate Local Centre in South Furzton is set to receive brand new signage and improvements thanks to funding granted by MK Council.

Blackmoor Gate Local Centre is home to popular facilities including a local convenience store and the busy South Furzton meeting place, which hosts parent and children’s groups, parties and fitness classes, all regularly used by local residents.

Labour Councillor for West Bletchley, Nigel Long, was made aware of the broken signage and has successfully requested funding for a new sign and improvements to the area.

Cllr Long is also working closely with the police and Tattenhoe & Shenley Brook End Parish Council to tackle anti-social behaviour in the area.

Councillor Long told us:“Local centres like this one in Blackmoor Gate are a vital part of our communities in Milton Keynes, offering local residents convenience and opportunities to engage with each other. It’s important we maintain them and ensure they continue to be a safe, convenient and enjoyable hub for residents to use.”

He continued: “I’m looking forward to seeing the new signage in place and continuing to work with the local Parish Council to reduce anti-social behaviour in the area.”
