Milton Keynes Labour Party Let's get Britain's future back.
Today, Rishi Sunak visited Milton Keynes to discuss local housing targets. Here’s a fact check on his comments:
🏠The council plan housebuilding figure of 60k by 2050 is set by using a national government formula, required to ensure the plan will be approved by a government appointed inspector.
👀 It’s also remarkable that Conservative candidate for MK North Ben Everitt is opposing this figure as, until recently, he has repeatedly advocated building more houses nationally.
🤷 And the Conservative candidate for MK Central is happy to live on an new-build estate built in the last 18 months, which while good enough for him, is something he wants to deny other hardworking families the opportunity of doing.
For the past 14 years the Conservatives have been gaslighting the people of Milton Keynes about investing in the city, including failing to deliver one of the 40 new hospitals they promised. It’s time to turn a page.
They haven’t built the infrastructure they’ve promised – let’s tell them to move out of the way and let Labour do it.
