Candidate for Central Milton Keynes Ward
I’ve lived in Milton Keynes most of my life, spending my childhood in Oldbrook. I still have family in Oldbrook and in Conniburrow. I work locally for the NHS and have done so for nearly 10 years. I love Milton Keynes and have a strong connection to Central Milton Keynes. I’m immensely proud to have been a Councillor for this area for the past 7 years, and to be selected yet again to stand as the local Labour Party candidate. I initially became inspired to stand as a candidate, having seen how the Lib Dems and Conservatives neglected the area for so long whilst running the Council, and then seeing how Government cuts made matters worse.
I’m proud that since Labour have taken over the Council, we have been able to keep libraries and children’s centres open, increase the number of nursery places and build more council houses, all whilst keeping council taxes lower than our neighbours. It’s also been great to play a part in keeping CMK Market from being bulldozed, getting a new fence sorted for residents of Dexter House and helping lots of people who have come to me with various problems over the years.
There’s still a lot more the Council could and should be doing, and that’s why I’m standing as the Labour Party candidate for Central Milton Keynes in May next year.
